This paper looks at the phenomenon of isothermal mass transfer of solid metals in the medium of the liquid ones. Kinetics of dissolution-reprecipitation processes in liquid-phase sintering of powder materials and mass transfer of dissimilar solid metals in the melts of low-melting metals is analyzed. Possibilities of producing targeted effects on these processes are discussed. The authors of this work voice a hypothesis of the possibility of controlling mass transfer in liquid-phase sintering and similar processes by introducing refractory nanoparticles with a high surface energy into the liquid metal solution. It is expected that mass transfer in liquid metal solutions can be controlled by varying the chemical composition, dispersion, and content of refractory nanoparticles. As practical results of using this method, grain growth inhibition for the solid phase in liquid-phase sintering, corrosion inhibition in the liquid metal media, and obtaining set composition diffusion coatings from liquid metal solutions can be outlined.
