The motivations for deriving generalized distributions are to provide more usefulness and greater flexibility of the existing distributions and to enhance its goodness-of-fit in comparison with the well-known distributions in lifespan data analysis. Generalization basically involves the introduction of additional location, scale or shape parameter(s). This branch of statistics has received greater attention in literature. This work contributes to the literature by reviewing modifications of the Lindley distribution.
