Abstract

Incomplete images can reduce identification accuracy and hinder the performance of biometric recognition systems. This study proposes a method of using B-spline interpolation curve model to regenerate the incomplete fingerprint ridge regions. The image is first enhanced through a series of pre-processing steps to improve the clarity. The   B-spline method is then employed to regenerate the missing ridge segments. This study aims to improve the reliability of fingerprint-based identity verification systems when dealing with degraded fingerprint images.
